I Am ___ Enough! #WCW with Veronica Lopez

“I AM Enough”! Do you believe that you’re enough?! My next Badass guest, Veronica Lopez, believes that She is indeed Enough! She is Creative Enough, Beautiful Enough, Smart Enough, Courageous Enough.. And damn straight I believe it too!

As her previous roommate, art project supporter, and dancing sidekick, she has shown me that she is all of the above and more! She has also inspired me to believe in myself as well as inspiring others to do the same. She is a fierce woman but also has so much compassion! And Wow, she has amazing hair, am I right?!

Inspiration is everywhere and Veronica is the perfect example to listen to your intuition and act!

This Badass is a "Recovering Attorney," as she describes herself, with over 10 years of experience as a licensed attorney with focuses on compliance, investigation, legal writing, contracting & drafting review, and foreclosure. She is now following a career passion that she has uncovered through much self-exploration and coaching to be an Executive Career Coach helping individuals connect with their passion and purpose.

She is holding her very First workshop today (12-18-19) that will focus solely on identifying a goal and developing an immediate plan of action. So, it only seems fitting to tell everyone how amazing she is and how much she has accomplished!! 🙌👏

I invite you to learn more about this Badass below!

1. Please describe your previous career, what you're doing now, what your career vision is for the future.  "I am a licensed attorney and an Executive Coach. I’ve been practicing law in Illinois since 2009 and just recently launched my business as an executive coach. I’m currently working full-time as an attorney and spend my free time coaching clients, improving my coaching skills, and building my business.

My vision for the near future is to transition out of the law completely and work full-time empowering my clients to connect with their passion and purpose".

2. Tell us About your Executive Career Coaching services! "At the moment, I am only coaching individuals but am open to coaching in a corporate setting as well. As a coach, I do the following for my clients:

Listen openly and actively. Ask powerful questions. Reflect/mirror back to you. Offer different perspectives. Provide structure. Assist in setting goals. Planning and strategizing. Hold you accountable for what you want to achieve. Trust you to make your own decisions. Show up with your best interests at heart. Tell the truth. Believe in you and your highest good".

3. What do you like to do for fun, hobbies, etc?? "I really enjoy listening to live music, Latin dancing, and attending networking events. These kinds of activities energize me and bring me joy, so I make it a priority to do one of those activities on a weekly basis.

I also love traveling and recently spent 13 months globe-trotting. I’m currently recovering in Chicago, IL but have plans to move to Germany in the next couple months".

4. Tell us about your creative side! What types of art form do you enjoy, why? "Until recently, I held the limiting belief that I wasn’t creative and simply lacked that skill set. However, with some coaching, I replaced that limiting belief with a new one -  “creativity comes naturally to me.” It was difficult to believe, at first, but after a while, I really started to believe it. And now, it’s really true for me. I draw, paint, write, dance…I do all the things!

As far as the art forms I enjoy, I really gravitate to live art performances, such as live storytelling events, intimate live music performances, and plays and comedy shows.(Picture featured is her Heart Project where she sliced hearts in half and posted them all over Lisbon, Portugal).

5. What does Art mean to you? "I have a loose definition of what constitutes art and consider it to be anything that involves a creative process".

6. What inspired the “i am _ _ _ _ enough.” art project? "The source of inspiration was an ad from my boyfriend’s Instagram feed – he works as a media consultant and we were comparing the ads in our feeds. As we were scrolling, we came across an ad in his feed that featured a group of young professionals sitting against a wall with colorful thought-bubbles above their heads. I pointed it out and said something along the lines of, “how cool. It’d be nice if those bubbles said something inspirational.” A couple days passed and the phrase, “i am enough” popped into my head and I intuitively knew the thought-bubbles and the phrase were meant to be together.

The original idea behind this art project was to post the thought-bubbles around the city – near bus stops, train stops, and other places where people frequently stand and wait – and have people inadvertently stand underneath the bubbles. Imagine people going through the normal motion of standing and waiting for their bus, all the while, they’re standing underneath a thought-bubble – a thought that is now THEIR thought – that says, “i am courageous enough.”  They would inadvertently be stepping into their own power and the truth! I get so excited thinking about this! Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to carry out this idea because I want to get city approval. Without city approval, I would be vandalizing and I prefer not to go that route.

In the meantime, I’m creating inspirational thought bubbles for friends and family and posting the pictures on the “i am _ _ _ _ enough” Instagram page (the handle has 4 underscores)". Click HERE to check out her Insta page!

7. What’s your vision for the “i am _ _ _ _ enough.” art project? "My three-month vision includes creating dry erase thought-bubbles and selling them to personal consumers for everyday use. I’d like to see them in children’s rooms, family rooms, or on household mirrors – any place where people can see the thought bubble and be encouraged and reminded that they are enough just as they are.  Also, depending on the sales, I like the idea of donating a thought bubble to a local school for every one purchased. Can you imagine a classroom full of kids learning in a space where they are constantly reminded that they are enough – that they are smart enough, brave enough, or capable enough?! It’s powerful stuff.

My six-month vision is to sell the thought-bubbles to corporations that are interested in creating (or maintaining) a positive work environment for their employees.

My one-year vision is to see the thought-bubbles around the City of Chicago as part of a city sponsored art exhibit. It's also my hope that this will be an art project that eventually has a global reach".

8. Why do you make this type of art and what does it represent to you?? "I truly believe that each of us is greater and wiser than we appear to be but, sometimes, we need a reminder. I simply want this art project to remind people of who they are at their core – they are enough – they are good enough, smart enough, talented enough, lovable enough, worthy enough, persistent enough, etc. Every person is enough and they are always enough, everywhere, every time".

9. How has travel changed your life? "I traveled with Remote Year for 12 months and it changed almost every part of my life – emotional, spiritual, financial, physical, you name it. However, the one change that has really resonated with me is my ability to trust – to trust in myself, in others, and in a higher power (some call this higher power God or the universe, to me the label is irrelevant). I trust that no matter what happens in my life, it happens for my good and I will be okay".

10. What advice would you give someone looking to start a business, new career, new project, etc?? And any other personal advice you think someone would benefit from??

"Take action. Even if you don’t feel ready, even if it’s not perfect, take one step".

❤Thank you so much Veronica for being inspiring, for being my #wcw guest , and great friend!
